Laser can be used by placing a catheter inside the vein to shrink and seal the problematic vein, with the same results realized from radio-frequency treatments. Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA) is a clinically proven, in-office alternative to traditional vein stripping surgery and is performed by our board-certified vascular surgeons at Restore Muscle and Joint in Kansas City.

How Laser Vein Ablation Works
Under ultrasound guidance, a thin laser fiber is threaded into the diseased vein through a tiny puncture. As the laser is slowly withdrawn, controlled laser energy heats and seals the vein wall. Blood is naturally rerouted to healthy veins, and the closed vein is absorbed by the body over time.

What to Expect
- You'll be awake and comfortable throughout the procedure.
- A small puncture — no incision or stitches.
- Mild bruising along the vein for 1–2 weeks is normal.
- Compression stockings worn for about 2 weeks.
- Walking encouraged immediately after.
